Meet the superstars Arsenal could sign now Puma are on board

Published:

Not only will Arsenal’s new kit deal with Puma keep the coffers suitably swollen at the Emirates, it will also play a large part in Arsene Wenger penning a new contract with the club.

However, a potential plus point of the record-breaking arrangement – the deal is the largest in the history of both Arsenal and Puma – is the fact that it may act as a transfer buffer for a few of Puma’s sponsored stars.

With the Gunners leading the Premier League by a single point and rated by Ladbrokes as 4/1 third-favourites for the title, here’s a list of potential Puma-sponsored players that the north London club could pounce for:

Radamel Falcao

Considering the Colombian cost Monaco £50m to prise away from Atletico Madrid last summer it’s just as well Puma will be pumping the cash into Arsenal, as they wouldn’t be able to afford him any other way.

Constantly linked to Chelsea, Falcao’s season-ending injury means he isn’t likely to leave this January making a summer switch to Arsenal all the more viable.

Antoine Griezmann

Another Chelsea target, Griezmann’s play at La Liga’s Real Sociedad is starting to be noticed by Europe’s higher powers.

With Lukas Podolski recently returned from injury, Griezmann and his goalscoring talents – he has 24 in the last two La Liga seasons to date – would be a potent alternative on the left wing.

Marco Reus

Rather than put all their eggs in one Julian Draxler-shaped basket, Arsenal could explore the option of raiding Borussia Dortmund, a known selling-club, for Marco Reus to feed their latest attacking midfielder craving.

Mario Balotelli

The former Man City tearaway is known to be disenchanted with life at AC Milan and has spoken of his openness to return to the Premier League.
With Arsenal in need of striking reinforcements he could be the answer to their problems.
