Magic and Celtics set to take advantage of struggling opponents

The NBA is in full swing for 2014 and below is an away day double on the Magic and Celtics,  paying out just over 9/2.

Orlando Magic to beat Cleveland Cavaliers @ 5/4

The Cleveland Cavaliers are in the midst of their longest losing streak of the season and with key man Kyrie Irving unlikely to feature they look there for the taking.

It would be a far simpler situation if the Orlando Magic weren’t so vulnerable on the road having picked up only three wins all season and with injury concerns of their own, however, on balance the travelling side look the lesser of two evils.

Irving leads his beleaguered side in points, assists and steals and his absence is a major blow to an outfit that need all the help they can get at present.

And although Jacque Vaughn’s side have struggled away from the beach this campaign, two of their three season wins have come in their last three games on the road and they must be supported at 5/4 to inflict a sixth straight defeat for Cleveland.

Boston Celtics to beat Chicago Bulls @ 3/2

Both sides have struggled for any consistency this season and at the prices the preference is for the Boston Celtics to record a rare victory in the Windy City.

The Celtics have only won one of their previous seven visits to the United Center but they face a team struggling in their own back yard with the Bulls losing their last two in front of their own fans, something they have had to get used to seven times already this season.

Celtic’s record on the road isn’t exactly encouraging having lost their last two on their travels and having won only five of 14 so far. However, for a team leading the Atlantic division – albeit a weak one – odds of 3/2 are far more appealing than any odds-on quotes about the hosts.

New coach Brad Stevens has surpassed expectations with his team winning more games at this point than many thought they would win all season. This over-achievement may hurt them when a juicy looking draft is made at the end of June but in the meantime they look like an outfit to stay on the right side of.
