James and Durant’s NBA meeting will lead to plenty of points

Published:

There is little disputing that Kevin Durant and LeBron James are the best two NBA players around, but who sits on top is a little more blurry, with Durant putting up some video-game numbers of late.

Luckily they’ll have a chance to settle some of the debate when facing off against each other on BT Sport, in one half of a late night double-header.

Oklahoma City Thunder @ Miami Heat

Over the last 11 games Durant has scored 30 points or more in every single one. It’s a major factor in the Thunder’s current standing at the top of the Western Conference with 36 wins and 10 losses and has helped the franchise barely notice the absence of star point guard Russell Westbrook through injury.

The small forward has also outscored James in nine of the two rivals’ 16 career meetings, but has ended being on the losing side 13 times.

It all makes for a fascinating encounter but, more importantly, one that will be laced with points. Back the 13/10 that his one flies over the 208.0 total-point mark.

Chicago Bulls @ San Antonio Spurs

Before their last two outings, the Spurs hadn’t lost two straight games all season. Now the Chicago Bulls come to town to start a lengthy road trip perfectly positioned to make it three a row.

Chicago have won six of their last seven on the road and could be boosted by the return of defensive lynchpin Joakim Noah, after he sat the last game out through illness.

The Spurs are one of the most potent offensive weapons in the league, scoring 104.4 points per game, but have suffered in that department during their recent woes, registering tallies of 101 and 90, the latter of which ended a 15-game streak of 100-point games.

On the defensive side of the ball, the Bulls are the second most frugal side in the league and it is those qualities that can help them capitalise on their x/x odds to win outright.
