Strictly punters in a spin for most competitive final ever
Published:The first all-female final in Strictly Come Dancing’s 11-series history is almost upon us and fans are still no closer to knowing who is likely to win.
The betting reflects how close Saturday’s finale is likely to be with favourite Susanna Reid priced at 11/10, Abbey Clancy 9/4 and Sophie Ellis-Bextor chalked up at 7/2.
After starting the series as the jolly, Natalie Gumede is now unconsidered at 10/1, despite registering the second perfect score of the series in the second round.
It’s easy to see why Reid spearheads the betting as the 43-year-old breakfast presenter showed her credentials two years ago when wiping the floor with fellow newsreaders when winning a one-off Children in Need dance special.
Ladbrokes also are quoting odds on which of the dance-floor quartet will suffer the ignominy of finishing in fourth place.
Gumede is a shade of odds-on to depart the earliest at 5/6 with Ellis-Bextor apparently the next most likely to take off her dancing shoes early at 3/1.
Abbey Clancy is 7/2 to make her way off the stage first while the layers think it’s inconceivable that the outright market-leader won’t be hanging around with the popular newsreader given a morale-boosting 8/1 price.
