Peterborough, Preston and Wanderers in four-fold League One acca

Published:

This weekend’s League One accumulator highlights the fine work being done by four of the biggest managers in the division with Micky Adams’ Port Vale, Kenny Jackett’s Wolves, Darren Ferguson’s Peterborough and Simon Grayson’s Preston North End all included.

Championship club chairmen and punters alike will no doubt be keeping a close eye on these results, with a bet of £10 on this fantastic foursome bringing returns of £152.73

Wolves to beat MK Dons @ 4/6

Kenny Jackett’s team may have slipped to a 1-0 defeat to Peterborough last time out in League One but they remain primed for an inevitable return to the Championship next term. Home form has been the cornerstone of Wolves’ success so far, with the Midlands side losing just one of the 10 fixtures played at Molineux in the league.

MK Dons, meanwhile, ended a run of three straight losses in League One with a nervy 1-0 win over non-league Dover in the FA Cup but remain a liability on the road and head into this match off the back of six straight losses away from Stadium:mk.

Port Vale to beat Stevenage @ 10/11

Micky Adams continues to work his magic down at Vale Park with the newly-promoted outfit currently ninth in League One, having won five of their last seven fixtures in the division. A loss to in-form Preston may have put paid to their two-game winning run at home but the Valiants will fancy their chances against a Stevenage team still struggling at the bottom end of the table.

Boro’s recent resurgence came to a shuddering halt away at Gillingham, a defeat that made it five losses from their last seven league games played away from Broadhall Way, and manager Graham Westley will be wary of a Vale side in rude health.

Peterborough to beat Gillingham @ Evens

It’s been a good couple of weeks for the Posh, with Darren Ferguson’s side winning each of their last three competitive games by an aggregate score of 9-0. The last of these was a 3-0 away win over Newport County which ended a run of three straight losses on the road and the good times could continue against Gillingham.

The Gills have lost four of their last five in all competitions and Peter Taylor’s side continue to ship goals at an alarming rate with nine conceded in their last three matches. Expect a Peterborough side in confident mood, following their win over Wolves, to take full advantage.

Preston to beat Crawley @ 7/5

Only managerless Brentford boast better form than Preston going into the weekend’s games with the Lilywhites unbeaten in 10 games in all competitions, winning three of their last four in League One.

PNE look good to extend that run away at Crawley with the hosts currently struggling for form, having gone eight games without a win in League One. New manager John Gregory certainly has a tough task on his hands with the Reds failing to find the net in four straight games at Broadfield Stadium in the division.
