NFL: Philadelphia Eagles and Seattle Seahawks set for TV wins

Published:

NFL fans will be treated to two exciting televised clashes this week with the high flying Philadelphia Eagles and in-form Seattle Seahawks both poised for further victories.

Philadelphia Eagles to beat Detroit Lions @ 20/29

Detroit and Philadelphia meet boasting matching 7-5 records for the season but while the Lions are well rested, having last played on Thanksgiving, it is the Eagles who will come out on top at Lincoln Financial Field.

The Lions may top the NFC North and can take confidence from their 5-11 record from 16 road trips, but  the form of Eagles QB Nick Foles and the hosts’ impressive record against the Lions means Philly have to be the pick here.

The 24-year-old tops the NFL with a season passer rating of 125.2 and has already eclipsed Michael Vick’s Eagles record for most passes without an interception at 233  – all helping Philly to build a four-game win streak and place one foot in the playoffs.

With the hosts victorious in six of the last seven meetings with Detroit, and four of the last five at home, expect a fifth straight success for Chip Kelly’s men.

Seattle Seahawks to beat San Francisco 49ers @ 6/5

The betting has San Francisco (8-4) down as slight favourites for this tie and their record against Seattle (11-1) explains why.

With the 49ers winning four of their last six clashes with the Seahawks, and four of the last five as hosts, it’s easy to see why many will be tempted to back the home win.

However, the Hawks have been so impressive this term that the 6/5 on a rare win in The City by the Bay is too good to be ignored.

Pete Carroll’s men have already clinched a playoff berth with four games to spare and have now won seven matches on the bounce.

However, they are unlikely to rest on their laurels, knowing that another win would mean the 49ers could only equal their record and a division championship would be within touching distance.
