David Moyes ready to bring ‘Romanian RVP’ to Man Utd

Manchester United are hot on the trail of Romania teen sensation Dorin Rotariu as David Moyes bids to strengthen a squad languishing in eighth position in the Premier League.

The Red Devils have endured a difficult start to life with Moyes at the helm but the former Everton boss is already planning for the future at Old Trafford and the Dinamo Bucharest forward is at the top of his transfer wish list.

The 18-year-old has been labelled the new Robin van Persie in his native Romania and is also nicknamed RVP by his team-mates because of the ferocious quality of his left foot strikes.

And with the Dutchman’s own future at Old Trafford reportedly in doubt and Wayne Rooney stalling over a new contract at United, Moyes could be planning for life after his star forwards.

Rotariu certainly knows his way to goal, scoring six times – five in Romanian Liga 1 in just seven starts – in his first season with Dinamo.

Tottenham and Chelsea have also shown a reported interest in the Under-21 international, with the player’s agent suggesting Jose Mourinho is well aware of the winger’s talents.

But United, who are now 25/1 to win the Premier League, look set to make the first move for one of the hottest talents in Europe.

Old Trafford scouts have watched the teenager, who signed a six-year contract in Bucharest last summer, on several occasions and Moyes is now ready to bring the former ACS Poli Timișoara star to Manchester.

After an impressive 3-0 win over Aston Villa at the weekend, United are seven points off the Champions League places and can be found at odds of 6/4 with Ladbrokes to finish in the top four.

While Moyes will be hopeful Van Persie, Rooney, Welbeck and Hernandez can provide the firepower this season, Rotariu is one for the future but he could still play a vital role for the champions in the Premier League run-in should he arrive this January.
