King George VI Chase betting – 2013 Boxing Day

Published:

The King George VI, staged on Boxing Day, is the highlight of the National Hunt calendar so far.

Most of the best and exciting chasers in training compete over three miles and 18 fences for one of the most lucrative and sought-after prizes in the game.

The race also has a significant impact on the biggest race of them all, the Cheltenham Gold Cup at the Festival in March. Nine of the last fourteen winners of the Gold Cup contested the King George and four horses in the last 12 years have managed to secure the big-race double.

This year’s renewal is as competitive as any in recent memory with Colin Tizzard’s impressive Betfair Chase winner Cue Card set to start favourite.

However, the opposition is high class with Dynaste, Al Ferof and defending champion Long Run all arriving with strong claims.

Thousands of bets will be struck on the race via betting sites across the UK as the popularity of online horse racing betting continues to rise.

Every bookmaker with online betting is desperate to attract new customers with free bets so their sports betting website has the edge over competitors when the biggest events like this come around.
