Hull v Fulham: Back both sides to bag at the KC

Published:

It was a tale of two comebacks for both Hull and Fulham on Boxing Day but it will be the Cottagers who will be full of Christmas cheer after a second win in just 12 Premier League matches.

Scott Parker’s late winner against Norwich sealed all three points for the west Londoners and but for Crystal Palace’s late winner against Aston Villa, Rene Meulensteen’s side would have climbed out of the bottom three.

But for Hull, a dream start turned into the nightmare after Christmas as Manchester United battled back from two goals down to win 3-2 at the KC Stadium.

Steve Bruce’s side are now five matches without a victory in the league following their brilliant 3-1 win over high-flyers Liverpool but the Tigers will see the visit of relegation candidates Fulham as an ideal opportunity to get back to winning ways.

And Hull, who are 23/20 with Ladbrokes for victory, have an excellent record against Fulham, winning three of the four Premier League meetings between the two sides. The last of those clashes was in 2010 and Hull came out on top with a 2-0 home victory after goals from Jimmy Bullard and Craig Fagan.

Fulham are 12/5 with the bookie to take the three points back to London and the 2-1 win in East Anglia will have boosted the confidence of head coach Meulensteen’s charges.

The draw in Hull is priced at 23/10 and with both sides in scratchy form and the match result market difficult to predict, it may be wise to look elsewhere, in particular at the both teams to score market.

With this market coming in on four Hull’s last six fixtures and Fulham both scoring and conceding in five of their last six games, backing both teams to score at 17/20 looks a sensible option.
