Marseille set to marvel against Ajaccio in 9/1 Euro treble

Published:

Some of Europe’s finest (and some not so great) players are gearing up for a return to domestic action following the international break.

This handsome 9/1 TV treble is the perfect accompaniment to celebrate with Stuttgart, Marseille and a tempting side bet on the Valladolid v Osasuna match-up our picks.

Stuttgart to beat Borussia Monchengladbach @ 5/4

High-flying Gladbach have made an impressive start to their Bundesliga campaign and enter this contest against Stuttgart having won their last three league games.

However, those victories were all against sides at the wrong end of the table and Lucien Favre’s team have rarely travelled well to Swabia.

The hosts have only suffered one defeat in their last 14 games at home to Die Fohlen with 2010’s 7-0 hammering of their visitors a recent highlight.

Gladbach’s four defeats in their six away outings so far this season doesn’t help their claims with Stuttgart possibly about to deliver a timely wake-up call.

Marseille to beat Ajaccio @ 21/20

Marseille recently recovered from a mini-slump that had seen them suffer three defeats in their four previous Ligue 1 outings prior to their win over Sochaux.

That victory against the division’s bottom-dwellers might not too look impressive.

But given that Ajaccio are just one place and one point above Marseille’s latest conquest, the host’s position in the league provides some additional context.

Four of L’OM’s six league victories this season have been against teams who currently occupy a spot in the bottom half of the table.

And a repeat outcome of last season’s 2-0 success in Corsica looks likely for Elie Baup’s outfit with the hosts winless in their previous seven matches in all competitions.

Valladolid v Osasuna – Over 2.5 goals @ 6/5

With both sides in such indifferent form we’ve plumped for over 2.5 goals to be scored between Valladolid and Osasuna as the bet that provides the best value.

Eight of the pair’s last 12 matches combined have produced three goals or more, with Valladolid fans in particular witnessing a plethora of action at both ends of the pitch.

Pucela have scored 10 times in their previous six matches. However, they’ve also conceded on 11 occasions during that sequence so can be trusted to allow their opponents at least a few decent goalscoring opportunities.

Osasuna were 3-1 victors in the corresponding fixture last season. Los Rojillos may not be taking the spoils from this encounter but one thing should be guaranteed and that’s plenty of excitement.
