Man Utd v Arsenal: Both teams to score has to be the bet

Published:

Manchester United at a price of 5/4 to win any Premier League game at Old Trafford is one that cannot be easily discounted, but both teams to score looks the safest play when top-flight leaders Arsenal visit.

All teams have now played 10 league games and Arsenal are the only team that are yet to draw a blank in front of goal.

Not only have Arsenal scored in all 10 of their league games, stretching back into last season the Gunners have also been on target in 17 in succession in the league on the road, dating back to a goalless draw with Aston Villa in November 2012.

Meanwhile, only Chelsea, on two occasions, have prevented Man Utd from scoring at home since December 2009, with Aston Villa once again the team to start the streak following a 1-0 victory at Old Trafford.

Therefore, both teams to score is tough to oppose at 8/13.

When looking to identify the scorers, Robin van Persie has to be the first point of call, as he has scored in the last four showdowns between the pair.

Van Persie is 1/1 to score at any time in the 90 minutes and among the specials for the Dutchman is the 6/4 that he is on target and doesn’t celebrate, alongside 10/1 that he nets and kisses the Man Utd badge.

His partner in crime Wayne Rooney has also scored more goals against Arsenal than any other Premier League club and has found the net in each of his last two league outings.

Rooney is 6/1 to score first and 7/4 to score at any time in the match.

Arsenal are 11/5 to win at Old Trafford for the first time since 2006 and it is their midfielders that have a knack of scoring in this game in recent seasons, with Andrei Arshavin, Theo Walcott and Santi Cazorla all on target since 2009.

Aaron Ramsey has scored in his last two appearances and is 10/3 to do so again, which is the same price as Cazorla and Mesut Ozil.
