Halloween night means Strictly goodbye to Hairy Biker

Fiona Fullerton may well be the favourite at 5/2 to be the fifth contestant eliminated from Strictly Come Dancing, but if recent Halloween specials are anything to go by, it is Dave Myers that is most in trouble.

Chef Dave is 3/1 to suffer the Strictly chop in week six and it is low scores thus far which put his place in jeopardy.

It is not the most outrageous of insights to suggest that the celebrity who registers the lowest score is at a big risk of being sent home, but on TV talent shows, this is not always the case.

Two years ago Nancy Dell’Olio scored the lowest marks each week, but still survived longer than three other celebrities, while last year, only once in the opening six weeks did the celebrity with the lowest score bow out.

What is interesting is that Nancy was finally given her marching orders during Halloween week and so was Sid Owen, who was the one act last year to go out early when bottom of the leaderboard.

Therefore, in the last two years, the act with the lowest score has gone home in Halloween week and it would be a big surprise if it wasn’t Dave propping up the leaderboard this time.

The Hairy Biker has registered the lowest score in two of the past three live shows and in his six dances so far his highest score has been 23, with four of his scores being below 20.

Ben Cohen is the only other celebrity to score under 20 that is still in the competition and that was in the first week, while his score of 17 on the last show, was five fewer than every other contestant.

Dave is almost certain to depart on his first appearance in the bottom two and there is every possibility that this will be during Halloween week.
