Atletico goals and a lack of them for PSG are best Champs League bets

Paris St-Germain and Atletico Madrid are two of four clubs to have maintained 100 per cent-winning starts to their respective Champions League groups, meaning that victories in gameweek four will secure their spots in the knockout stages of the competition with two fixtures to spare.

The good news for this duo is they both face opposition next that are not only still seeking their first wins of the group stages, but also their first goal.

Two big wins will be widely expected, but while Atletico should have no problem in this regard against Austria Vienna, PSG may well struggle on the scoring front when hosting Anderlecht.

PSG to beat Anderlecht and under 3.5 goals in the match @ 23/20

PSG have already won the reverse fixture 5-0 in Belgium, but this time they are definitely without Edinson Cavani, while Zlatan Ibrahimovic is not fully fit and so is unlikely to be risked.

How PSG will line-up in attack without their star strikers is a point of interest, with Ezequiel Lavezzi the obvious candidate to lead the line, but he has not proved the most prolific in the past.

Whoever starts in attack will not provide the same focal point as Ibrahimovic or Cavani and this scenario is a new challenge for manager Laurent Blanc, who has always had at least one at his disposal since taking over.

Therefore, a fairly disjointed display is more than possible and with Anderlecht’s scoring record also unlikely to improve with star striker Matias Suarez seemingly out for the season, the promoted bet is effectively saying that PSG won’t score more than three times at the Parc des Princes.

Atletico Madrid to beat Austria Vienna and over 3.5 goals being scored @ 21/20

Atletico were not as emphatic when winning in Vienna the first time around, but they were not truly extended in the 3-0 success.

They are unlikely to rest players here either, given their knockout-round spot still needs confirming and they will have four days off before travelling to Villarreal next in La Liga.

Atletico have won all seven at the Vicente Calderon this season and scored at least twice on each occasion, while Vienna have only won one of their last eight in all competitions, showing their current form is not overly impressive.

The only obstacle to this bet looks to be that Vienna have kept three consecutive Champions League away clean sheets across all rounds of the competition.
