Tottenham and Man United eye move for Everton’s Baines

Leighton Baines’ future as an Everton player is once again in doubt – if the latest transfer rumours are to be believed.

According to the Mail on Sunday, Manchester United – who tried to sign the left back in the summer – will once again make a move for him in the January transfer window.

However, there will be further complications for United in the new year, with Andre Villas Boas keen to spend even more cash on building a side that will glide to a Champions League spot.

The Sunday People reckons that Villas Boas wants to get some quality competition in for current left back Danny Rose, who has been in very decent form for the north London side in the early stages of the season.

With United apparently reluctant to pay a big price for the 28-year-old full back, a bidding war could once again see David Moyes miss out on a reunion with his old player.

Meanwhile, the Observer are reporting that Manchester City forward Sergio Aguero could be the subject of a January transfer bid from Real Madrid.

However, with Aguero continuing to be in good form for the Citizens and the Manchester side hardly being short of cash, it would seem that Real are on a hiding to nothing with that one – especially in January with City hunting the title

Finally, Karim Benzema is also the subject of transfer rumours, with the Sunday Mirror, believing that he could be sold for around £17million in January.

Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United are all thought to be interested in the player who has fallen out of favour in the Spanish capital.
