Norwich v Cardiff: Norwich to ease pressure on Hughton

Published:

Norwich have been going through a rough patch lately, winning just one of their last five in the Premier League, putting manager Chris Hughton under immense pressure and leaving his side at 10/3 to drop down to the Championship.

However, the visit of 12/5 Cardiff will raise hopes amongst the Canaries faithful.

The hosts have lost just one of their previous 10 clashes against the Welsh side at Carrow Road, with seven of those ties ending in a home victory.

The East Anglian club have been defeated in their previous two on home soil, but they have not lost three home league ties in a row since 2006.

Add to that the unsettled atmosphere in the Bluebirds camp thanks to Vincent Tan’s tinkering and the fact the visitors have won just one of their last five in all competitions and a Norwich victory at 23/20 looks fantastic value.

More cautious bettors may want to utilise the double chance market and get behind Norwich and the draw at 3/10.

The hosts are the only side in the division yet to score earlier than the 34th minute, and just one of their goals has come in the first period, so getting behind their opener being in the second 45 at 21/10 should be profitable.

Midfielder Jonny Howson has found his range in front of goal recently, notching two in his last three and at 9/2 to net anytime and 14/1 to bag first he is sure to garner some attention.

Both teams have registered in the visitors’ previous three outings, while Norwich have scored and conceded in their last two, giving the 3/4 on both teams to score real appeal.

Throwing a Norwich win into the bargain bulks up that price to a rather plump 10/3 and certainly whets the appetite.
