Liverpool v Crystal Palace: SAS to treat Reds fans to big win

Published:

The rekindling of Liverpool’s strike partnership between Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge is enough to send punters in the direction of a comfortable win for the hosts over Crystal Palace, while the visitors have the air of ducks rather than eagles ahead of this one.

Poor old Palace look ripe for the chopping block here, having failed to score in 270 minutes of Premier League football, while they’ve have lost successive away games by the same 2-0 scoreline.

And while there’s nothing to get excited about in Liverpool’s 2/9 price to overcome Palace at Anfield, there’s plenty of other markets worth a tickle, including the 29/10 on Liverpool to win by exactly two goals.

A third Liverpool win to nil in the Premier League at Anfield is therefore unsurprisingly short too, at 3/4, as is the home clean sheet at 13/20 with Ladbrokes.

With Liverpool’s ‘SAS’ attack combining so well in beating Sunderland 3-1 on their first outing together since Suarez’ ban, it’s difficult to envisage Ian Holloway’s struggling side finding a way to quell their threat at Anfield.

Either the current Premier League top scorer Sturridge at 3/1 or Suarez at 5/2 have to be backed as the first goal scorers of the game, while there may not be a better opportunity than this to back a hat-trick for either player at 16/1 and 8/1 respectively.

The home loss to Southampton will have given Palace hope of a pulling off their own shock result, but the return of Suarez to Liverpool’s attack, gives the home side that extra dimension and chance to create a goal out of nothing – which was missing against the Saints.

If Liverpool score in the first 15 minutes – something they’ve done twice already this season and available at 21/10 with Ladbrokes – this could be a very long afternoon indeed for the visitors.
