League One fourfold offers a 20/1 wallet-boosting return

Published:

On a choc-a-block day in the country’s third tier of football, we have scrutinised the form, analysed the team news and whittled down the possible outcomes to leave a lucrative, but very plausible, fourfold acca.

Russell Slade has worked wonders at Orient, slowly building a side through shrewd acquisitions that have hit the ground running in the current campaign. The O’s are unbeaten and have won eight of their nine games, including all four away from home.

Oldham on the other hand jump from one financial crisis to another and have lost seven of their last ten.  Until a solution to their money troubles is found, they will be clinging on to League One survival and the in-form Londoners should prove too strong.

Coventry to beat Stevenage @ 11/10

A quick glance at the league table suggest this is a basement battle. However if it wasn’t for a ten point deduction, Coventry would be sitting comfortable just outside the playoffs. They have scored in each of their away games this season and have only lost two of their last eight.

Opponents Stevenage have only won twice since April 1st and have endured three consecutive drubbings conceding a total of ten goals, whilst bagging just twice themselves. Get on the Sky Blues to take advantage of this lack of form and confidence.

Port Vale to beat Bristol City @ 5/4

Port Vale are flying high at the moment, winning four from five, with their only defeat coming at Leyton Orient. If it wasn’t for their dreadful start to the campaign then the Valiants would be challenging for the division’s top spots.

Conversely, ever since their emotionally charged derby victory over neighbours Bristol Rovers, the Robins have been in a downward spiral. In fact, they’ve only won away from home once in 2013, a record they’re unlikely to improve in Stoke-on-Trent.

Peterborough to beat Preston @ 19/20

Perhaps the most intriguing fixture of the week is Preston’s trip to Peterborough. The Cambridgeshire side have long been the cornerstone of everyone’s Goal Rush coupon but that can detract from their results. They’ve won nine from 12 games and sit second in the league.

North End are also flying having won five in a row and are unbeaten in the league. So it’s a bold call to tip Darren Ferguson’s men in what could be a tight clash, but with home advantage, and the firepower of Britt Assombalonga, The Posh get the nod.

This four-fold pays out at odds of around 20/1 if successful.
