Hibernian can take advantage of Partick’s poor home form

Published:

With only a point between these sides, both Hibernian and Partick Thistle will be keen to take the spoils and go into the top six. The fixture is live on BT Sport 1.

Hibs have performed very well away from home this campaign, picking up nine points from a possible 15. Although a 3-0 loss at Inverness last time, will have dampened spirits somewhat, Caley Thistle are flying high in second place in the table having won all their home games by an aggregate 10-0.

Prior to that defeat, Hibs had gone five SPL games undefeated, dominating St. Mirren to run out 2-0 winners and an inspired fight back from a goal down ensured they took all three points at McDiarmid Park against St Johnstone. They are 15/8 to defeat Partick Thistle.

Ex-Swindon striker James Collins bagged the winner against The Saints, finishing well from a tight angle and will be hoping he can add to that goal following a barren spell. Collins is 6/1 to open the scoring this time, while those who fancy him to net the decisive goal this time can get the same price on him notching the last in the game.

Those in search of more value might be tempted by Liam Craig who is 3/1 to score anytime. The attacking midfielder netted a hat-trick in the recent 5-3 victory over Stranraer and takes both free-kicks and penalties. The Hibs number 10 now has five goals in all competitions this year.

The away team has picked up the points in three of the last five fixtures between these two and that looks likely to be the case in this fixture with Partick Thistle having failed to register a league win this season. They are 7/5 to be victorious in this clash.

Sought-after centre forward Steven Lawless scored 13 goals for Partick in the Scottish First Division last year but has failed to be as prolific in this division, netting only two so far. The Glasweigan is 6/1 to open the scoring here, while no nonsense defender Aaron Muirhead is always a threat from set-pieces and is 5/1 to net anytime.
