Dortmund the danger to Arsenal defeating all comers in October

Who will beat Arsenal next?

The 2-0 Champions League victory over Napoli extended the Gunners’ run to nine victories in 10 games in all competitions, with the one exception technically still ending in success, as they knocked West Brom out of the Capital One Cup on penalties.

Ladbrokes are now offering 16/1 that Arsenal win all of their matches in the month of October, with five games scheduled for the month.

Arsene Wenger takes his team to West Brom next, before a home clash with Norwich, a Champions League encounter at the Emirates with Borussia Dortmund, a Premier League visit to Crystal Palace and finally another all-London fixture at home to Chelsea in the Capital One Cup.

Arsenal have won on their last two Premier League visits to West Brom and have scored at least twice on each of their last four top-flight trips to the Hawthorns.

However, West Brom will be exceedingly high on confidence heading into the game after their victory at Old Trafford last time and it is 1/1 that this is where Arsenal’s winning run ends.

The price that the run ends at Norwich is 5/1 and this is a fixture they lost 1-0 last season.

Alternatively, 5/2 is on offer that they win all of their games until facing Borussia Dortmund, 9/1 that the winning streak comes to an end at Crystal Palace and 8/1 that Chelsea end the victorious run.

There have been some comparisons between the current run and Arsenal’s invincible season of 2003/04, but it is worth pointing out that they failed to win all of their October fixtures then.

Meanwhile, Arsenal have lost exactly once in the league in the month of October in each of the last three campaigns.
