Champions League Group B: Real to wait until second half to score
For many it represents the biggest Champions League game of the week, but Real Madrid will be confident that their home meeting with Juventus will be a mere formality if they are prepared to wait.
Real are top of Group B thanks to two wins from their two matches; games in which they managed to plunder 10 goals.
And against a Juve side still shell-shocked from seeing their 2-0 advantage erode to a 4-2 defeat at Fiorentina in Serie A on Sunday, Carlo Ancelotti’s men can make it three wins out of three and leave their visitors winless after three games in the tournament.
Real won’t panic if they fail to make the breakthrough early in the contest either, considering that they have scored 10 of their last 11 goals in the second half of matches.
They are 4/6 to net the first goal of the second period here, whilst Cristiano Ronaldo and company are priced at 13/10 to do most of their scoring in the latter 45 minutes.
In addition, Real have scored an astounding seven goals in the 90th minute or later in their last seven games, a record that leaves them at 13/10 to score between 75 minutes and full-time at the Bernabeu, whilst they are 15/1 to notch their first goal after the 80th minute mark.
The other game in Group B sees Galatasaray host Copenhagen, with the Turkish club fresh from their morale-boosting draw at Juventus in their last group clash.
They are 2/5 to win the game outright, but with both teams finding the net in eight of Gala’s last nine games then backing them to win the game with both teams scoring could be the better shout.
That possibility is priced at 21/10, whilst the hosts’ front two Burak Yilmaz and Didier Drogba are both at evens to score any time.
