Bet Of The Century: Sam must stay in X Factor longer than Miss Dynamix

Published:

The fact that almost three quarters of the money taken by Ladbrokes in the second X Factor elimination market has been on Miss Dynamix suggests that even if the girl group do reach the third live show, their future in the competition is short lived.

Interestingly, Ladbrokes have made six match bets within their X Factor odds, but rather than pairing Miss Dynamix with Shelley Smith, who is another contestant that will be out soon, the group have been put in direct competition with Sam Callaghan.

Sam may be one of the weaker singers in the competition, but there is every reason to believe that he will survive at least three more weeks, which should easily be enough to see him past Miss Dynamix.

Therefore, the 4/7 on offer in the X Factor betting that Sam stays in the competition longer than Miss Dynamix is virtually free money.

If the difference in popularity was in any doubt, Sam has over 100,000 more Twitter followers than the group and he is the most followed of the 11 acts left in the competition.

This is in comparison to Miss Dynamix, who are the least followed.

In terms of their X Factor week-one performances, Sam’s has been viewed more on the official X Factor YouTube channel than that of Miss Dynamix, with the group’s performance only one of two viewed less than that of eliminated act Lorna Simpson.

Given Sam’s following and appeal with young females, there is the added incentive that bosses will want him on the X Factor tour, as he could be responsible for greater ticket sales than other acts.

Only the final seven of the X Factor performed on the tour last year and so it is unlikely that Sam will be sent home in the next few weeks.

Miss Dynamix are the 6/4 favourites to be the second act eliminated, with Sam 8/1 in this market.

All Odds and Markets are correct as of the date of publishing.
