Belgium, Bulgaria and Sweden make up our 11/1 treble

Published:

It’s crunch time for the World Cup qualifiers, and as the groups reach the final round of matches, we’ve done the research and put together a three-team accumulator which pays over £110 off a £10 stake!

Armenia v Bulgaria – Bulgaria to win at 13/10

Second in Group B, Bulgaria are just a point ahead of Denmark and will be eager to win away at Armenia to maintain their hold on a play-off position, with Italy having already sewn up the automatic qualifying spot.

Bulgaria’s away record in this group reads one win, two draws and a defeat,  and while that doesn’t suggest excellent travelling form, they have proved a durable outfit and lost only 1-0 to the Italians last month.

Armenia shocked many by thumping Denmark 4-0 and then pulling off an equally surprising 2-1 win at the Czech Republic, but their home record is dire with four defeats from four games, scoring just once in the process.

Bulgaria need a win to fend off Denmark, and should be able to do just that against the Armenians.

Croatia v Belgium – Belgium to win at 2/1

The up and coming side of European football, Belgium will qualify from Group A if they avoid defeat against second-placed Croatia.

With quality players in almost every position, the Belgians are a team nobody wants to face and they’ve picked up seven wins and a draw from their eight group games.

Their away form is just as standout, with four wins from four and a quartet of clean sheets to boot.

Croatia are no mugs, but they’ll find it tough going against a defence featuring Vincent Kompany, Thomas Vermaelen and Jan Vertonghen, and the Belgians to win and in turn seal top spot in their group is our view here.

Sweden v Austria – Sweden to win at 13/20

Sweden need Germany to lose both their remaining matches in Group C to have any chance of automatic qualification, and while that is somewhat unlikely to happen, victory over third-placed Austria would ensure a play-off position.

The Swedes have only played three of their eight games on home soil,  but are unbeaten and have yet to concede, which bodes well against an Austria team which haven’t won any of their away games and who have only netted twice.

With that in mind, and Sweden keen to consolidate at least a place in the play-offs, the hosts to win at 13/20 looks a good addition to this treble.
