Moses can repay Rodgers with debut goal at Swansea

Victor Moses has been handed an olive branch by Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers, who has already hinted that the Nigerian will get his chance against Swansea.

Despite consistently finding the net for Chelsea en route to Europa League glory last season, Moses failed to cement himself in Jose Mourinho’s plans for this season.

However, the former Crystal Palace man is now set to make his bow on loan for Liverpool at Swansea, with Rodgers alluding that he could start Moses from the left.

“We’ve seen him a lot playing from the left side, where he cuts in – he’s got great feet, great ability, can shoot off either foot and can beat a man, which is important for us,” said Rodgers.

This makes Liverpool’s newest attacker a promising-looking bet with odds of 10/3 at Ladbrokes to find the Swansea net at any time.

If he is handed a start in Wales, Moses can draw on the memory of scoring on his full competitive debut for Chelsea at the start of last season against Wolves in the League Cup.

The obvious fall-guy to drop out of the starting line-up is Spaniard Iago Aspas, who has looked lively for the Reds as part of their fluid attack in the opening matches, but has so far failed to offer much of a goal threat.

Liverpool’s match-winner of their opening three games, Daniel Sturridge, is thought to be back in action however, despite missing both England’s recent qualifiers and the hotshot is 6/1 to open the scoring at the Liberty Stadium.

Meanwhile, Reds skipper Steven Gerrard is set to lead Liverpool out for the 400th time in his professional career.

After honing his sights with a rasping drive against Moldova for his country, the Reds legend is priced at 10/3 to find the net on this landmark occasion.
