Man United’s Rooney the key man in fantasy football

Manchester United are yet to really click under David Moyes, but Wayne Rooney is at the top of his game, scoring four times in their past four matches.

After the disastrous 4-1 loss at the Etihad, Man United will be hungry to bounce back at home to West Brom, and Rooney has scored five in his past five games against the Baggies.

Robin van Persie is a doubt for the match, and even if he is fit to start, Rooney looks the better bet to bring in the most points in fantasy football in gameweek six.

Manuel Pellegrini is likely to shuffle his pack for Manchester City’s trip to Aston Villa ahead of a Champions League match against Bayern Munich, making picking any of their players a lottery.

However, Sergio Aguero was superb in the win over United, and having been left out of the Capital One Cup win he should feature against Villa, who he has scored against twice in two games.

Luis Suarez returned to action in midweek against Manchester United, and although the Uruguayan lacked a little sharpness at Old Trafford, he could sparkle in Liverpool’s trip to rock-bottom Sunderland.

The Uruguayan has scored five in five games against the Black Cats, who have the worst defensive record in the league after conceding 11 in their first five fixtures.

Suarez’s strike partner Daniel Sturridge is also worth considering to score the most points, having netted four in six league games thus far.

Leighton Baines topped the charts last week, the second defender to do so in the first five gameweeks, and he could be a good outside bet again ahead of Everton’s home match against Newcastle.

For a real long-shot, Stoke’s Marko Arnautovic could be an interesting choice ahead of Crystal Palace’s trip to the Britannia.

Classed as a midfielder, the towering Austrian was impressive in an attacking role against Arsenal, and came within a whisker of scoring when his shot rebounded off the post for Geoff Cameron to tuck away.
