Leicester provide cornerstone in 15/1 Championship acca
Published:After another tight start in this notoriously difficult division, we have backed a few trusted outfits for this week’s Championship acca.
Leicester (-1) v Barnsley
A clumsy foul by goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel cost Leicester maximum points against Blackpool last weekend; a win that would have pushed Nigel Pearson’s side into the automatic promotion spots.
Barnsley were thrashed 5-1 at home to Watford last weekend, the third time this season they have conceded four or more goals in a game. Backing Leicester at 7/5 to win with a (-1) handicap is decent value against a team who have already hemorrhaged 22 goals this term.
Nottingham Forest v Derby – Both Teams to Score
Forest have only failed to score once in their last 14 games at the City Ground, a run that dates back to January. But defensively they look fragile too, shipping eight goals in their last four Championship matches.
Derby, meanwhile, have scored in all but one of their last 15 league away-days. It is 8/11 that both teams net on Saturday.
QPR v Middleborough
Rather than blitzing through sides as many thought they would, QPR have taken a more measured approach on their return to the second-tier. Harry’s boys are still winning games though – albeit, 1-0 or 2-0.
Despite failing to take maximum points for only the second time this season against Brighton, the west London outfit will still have too much for a Middlesbrough side who haven’t managed a clean sheet in all but one league game, including shipping eight in their least three. (8/11)
Bournemouth v Blackburn
Newly-promoted Bournemouth have made an impressive start to the season, built on solid home form: In their four games at Seward Stadium, they have only dropped points once, against high-flyers Blackpool.
Blackburn, conversely, have looked anything but solid so far, especially on their travels where they are yet to win a game in the league. Expect the home side to grind out a tight win at 13/10.
