League One Acca: Brentford head up our 26/1 fourfold

Published:

With no Premier League action to fulfil our betting needs during the international hiatus, a dip into the cold waters lower down the football pyramid is in order and this League One 26/1 fourfold can see you through the weekend.

Rotherham to beat Sheffield United @ 8/5

This south Yorkshire derby doesn’t take place too often, giving the Millers extra incentive to get one over on their bigger-fish foes at the New York Stadium, where they sank Sheffield Wednesday in the Capital One Cup.

Aside from getting knocked out of that competition by Aston Villa, they’re unbeaten this term, whereas the Blades haven’t won in any of the six games that followed the curtain-raiser, losing four of them.

MK Dons to beat Swindon @ 23/20

The Robins may have ran riot when they entertained lowly Crewe last time, but the hosts are yet to lose a league game this term. Swindon, on the other hand, haven’t scored a League One goal on the road and will struggle here.

This notion is further supported by the fact they’re on a three-match losing streak at Stadium: MK.

Peterborough to beat Crewe @ 10/11

The wheels came off Posh’s previously perfect season in a shock reverse at home to Crawley last time out, but six straight victories in all competitions – scoring 11 and conceding none in the two games that preceded their defeat – shows what a quality outfit they are at this level.

That’s more than can be said of Crewe, who have managed just the one league win all season. Dreadful away form heaps the pressure on them to get results at home, but no League One clean sheet at Gresty Road spells trouble against an attack as piercing as Peterborough’s.

Brentford to beat Bradford @ 7/4

In the battle of the ‘Fords’ it is the southerners who will prevail in west Yorkshire.

The Bees were desperately unlucky to miss out on promotion last season and are demonstrating their class by coming into this game on a four-match unbeaten run.

Bradford have won both games at Valley Parade since clambering up into League One, without conceding a goal, impressively. They’ll do well to keep that going against Brentford though, who are a stronger unit than the two they’ve previously toppled.
