Exeter, Northampton and Sale – a perfect Premiership treble

Published:

We may only be two weeks into the Premiership season but it looks like this is going to be a campaign to remember with reigning champions Leicester already tasting defeat.

With some tasty encounters already witnessed and a few surprise results to boot, there is some real value to be had from backing a treble of victories in the English rugby union top flight.

This weekend for instance, opting for a trio of wins for Bath, Exeter and Northampton could see you walk away with some impressive returns with odds of just under 6/1 available.

Sale to beat Wasps @ 8/13

After the hardships of last season, Sale have started the new campaign as they mean to go on and were unlucky to narrowly lose to Newcastle last time out.

They shouldn’t suffer the same problems against Wasps though with the Londoners yet to win in the Premiership this season.

Sale also boast a formidable recent record against Dai Young’s men with four wins from their last five meetings including consecutive victories at the Salford City Stadium.

Exeter to beat London Irish @ evens

The Chiefs may have already tasted defeat on the road this term, but Rob Baxter will have reason to be optimistic about their chances going into this tricky encounter at the Madjeski Stadium.

For starters, London Irish have yet to win at home this season and there is the fact that Exeter have beaten the Exiles in each of their last three meetings, including a 27-23 win at the Berkshire ground last season.

Northampton to beat Gloucester @ 4/5

Gloucester’s poor start to the current campaign makes this trip to the Kingsholm Stadium an opportunity for Northampton to take full advantage with a win.

Bottom of the standings and having shipped the highest number of points of anyone in the division with 66 conceded in just two fixtures, things are looking bleak for Nigel Davies’ men.

By contrast, Northampton have enjoyed a great start to the season with back-to-back wins over Exeter and Harlequins. Confidence is sure to be high also given the fact that they mustered a 24-19 victory at this ground last term.
