Coventry v Brentford: Glut of goals to get Sixfields rocking

Published:

Sunday at 15:00 isn’t exactly the peak time of the weekend’s football schedule but Coventry and Brentford are poised to serve up an action-packed 90 minutes at Sixfields.

Both the Sky Blues and the Bees have been scoring at will this season, while also leaking like proverbial sieves at the back.

Coventry fans saw 19 goals in their side’s first three matches this season and Steven Pressley’s men have now seen a total of 43 strikes at both ends at a staggering average of 4.77 a game.

Bees followers have not been treated to quite that level of scoring but with 40 goals recorded in their 11 games thus far – at an average of 3.63 – it makes sense for the Both Teams to Score and Goal Line markets to be at the front of peoples’ minds for this fixture.

If ever the statistics lent themselves to a BTTS bet then this is the match and given the sides’ records so far this season 4/7 certainly tempts, while 5/4 is available for those in doubt.

Better value though can be had on Over 3.5 goals in the game, which offers odds of 7/4, while anyone looking to play it a little safer can opt for Over 2.5 at 8/11.

Coventry go into the tie as 5/4 favourites to win and this is a testament to their solid displays in front of home crowds so far.

The Sky Blues are unbeaten at their makeshift home and but for a 10-point deduction for their off-field issues would be settled among a host of teams vying to occupy the play-off places.

Brentford, meanwhile, are yet to record a victory away from Griffin park and are rightly priced as the 21/10 outsiders to pick up three points on the road for the first time this year.

All Odds and Markets are correct as of the date of publishing.
