A Tiger Woods win at the Tour Championship on the cards

Published:

He may not have won a Major this season, but Tiger Woods has won a third of all the events he has entered in 2013, ensuring he leads the way in FedExCup standings heading into the Tour Championship.

If your season reads; 15 events played, five tournament wins, eight top-10 finishes and every cut made, then it’s fairly safe to say you’ve had a pretty phenomenal season.

These stats, of course, belong to one Mr Woods, who heads into the Tour Championship with an excellent chance of claiming the title that has eluded him over the past five years, since he won the event at the outset of the FedExCup era in 2007.

Atlanta’s historic East Lake Golf Club is a course which Woods has been runner-up at on four other occasions, so the world number one will be looking to set the record straight in the southern state.

To add to the excitement Ladbrokes are offering money-back on all losing winner bets for the tournament as a free bet on each player selected, should the American go ahead and win it. See full terms & condiitons here ladbrokes.com/tc/tiger

A real marker of the return to form that Woods has displayed this season, is that the four-tournament winless streak he’s undergone ahead of the Tour Championship at East Lake is actually the longest stretch the 5/1 favourite has gone without winning an event all year.

Two separate rounds of 66 at the most recent BMW Championship, which helped him on his way to a T11th finish at Conway, gave clues that Woods has started to find his rhythm again.

Woods may not have featured heavily in the last two playoff events, but with the $10m FedExCup on the line, a field of just 29 to overcome and the pain of missing out on a Major, this is set up for Tiger to raise his game.
