Our editors’ bets – Man City to go berserk, and more…

When our Ladbrokes news editors are not working tirelessly to bring you all the latest betting news and winning tips, they sometimes get around to having a flutter themselves, so here’s how they’ll be stockpiling the dough this weekend.

Craig Kemp

Bristol Rovers to beat Northampton @ 5/4

Both clubs find themselves in the bottom eight of League Two and the problem has been their away form, with not a single point accrued between them on their travels from two fixtures each. Unfortunately for Northampton, they are away here. They have not managed to score on their two away days either, while Bristol Rovers have taken four points at home.

A final pointer is that this fixture has been won by whichever team has played at home in each of their last five meetings.

Lyon to beat Evian @ 23/20

There is no polite way to put it, but Evian are set for a difficult campaign. The departures of last season’s strike pairing Seul Khelifa and Yannick Sagbo have made scoring goals more difficult and now their replacement Ruben is injured.

They have taken just one point from their two home games to date, while Lyon have every incentive to put to bed a disastrous 10 days in which they have lost three times.

Christian Crowther

Premier League four-fold Accumulator @ 7/1:

Manchester City to score over 2.5 goals @ 8/11

Man City made a habit of trouncing sides immediately after losing Premier League matches last season, a habit they seamlessly continued by sacking Newcastle 4-0 on day one, having finished the last campaign with a shock 3-2 loss to Norwich. Sufficiently riled by defeat to Cardiff, City’s plethora of big hitters can take it all out on newly promoted Hull.

Under 2.5 goals in Crystal Palace v Sunderland @ 7/10

You probably couldn’t find two less potent attacks in the top flight. Both sides are frantically searching for a crumb of identity following many new faces, so with a combined tally of two goals from four Premier league games to date, fans should take along a good book.

Both teams to score in Liverpool v Manchester United @ 8/13

You have to go back eight league games to the last time this hostile fixture didn’t produce goals at either end, while only two of the last 12 in all competitions between these old foes witnessed only one side score.

Both teams to score in Arsenal v Tottenham @ 8/15

This derby fixture has set the goal-scoring bar higher than any other in the Premier League. Arsenal have triumphed 5-2 on both of Tottenham’s last two visits, while eight straight meetings have required both keepers to pick the ball out of their net.
