League One accumulator: Backing Brentford won’t sting your pocket

Published:

This week we have a fantastic League One four-fold banker backing home wins for Brentford, Peterborough and Swindon along with an away victory for Wolves at odds of just over 9/1.

Brentford to beat Carlisle @ 1/2

The Bees may have had the sting temporarily taken out of their tails by Derby in the League Cup but Brentford should be back to their best when they return to their GriffinPark nest this Saturday.

Uwe Rosler’s team have yet to lose in League One this season and will be confident of success against a winless Carlisle side that has shipped 14 goals in just four games this term.

Brentford also boast a formidable home record over Carlisle, having won each of their last four league meetings with the Cumbrians.

Peterborough to beat Crawley @ 8/13

After claiming a sensational 6-0 win over Championship challengers Reading in the League Cup on Tuesday, few can doubt the Posh’s attacking prowess and position as favourites for promotion.

Peterborough have a 100 per cent record in League One this term and have so far averaged exactly three goals a game in the English third tier.

As such they should be too hot to handle for a visiting Crawley side that has recorded just one win from their last eight away fixtures in the division and have yet to score a victory away from the Broadfield Stadium this term.

Swindon Town to beat Crewe Alexandra @ 5/6

Swindon may have made a slower start to the season than most but a comfortable 2-0 victory over QPR in the League Cup demonstrated that this team is capable of big things this season.

The cornerstone of any Robins challenge for promotion is their form at the CountyGround with Swindon boasting one of the best home records in League One with just one loss in their last 16 games  as hosts.

Mark Cooper has yet to taste defeat in Swindon and he looks unlikely to against a Crewe side that has struggled so far this term, losing three of their first four fixtures.

Wolverhampton Wanderers to beat Port Vale @ 11/10

Following a slow start to life in League One it seems that Kenny Jackett’s Wolves have got the taste for opposition blood, winning each of their last three competitive fixtures.

By contrast, newly promoted Port Vale have failed to get going at all this season losing three of their last four in all competitions.

Meanwhile, Wolves fans will have happy memories of their previous trips to ValePark, where the Molineux faithful have lost just once in six visits, winning four and drawing one of the remaining five.
