Fiorentina and Madrid make up our Monday Euro double

| 26.08.2013

It’s not just Man United v Chelsea in action tonight, there’s plenty of football across Europe and our Fiorentina/Real Madrid double pays out just over 19/1.

Fiorentina v Catania – Fiorentina to win 2-0 @ 13/2

A fourth place finish in Serie A was Fiorentina’s strongest result for several seasons, and despite missing out on Champions League football, La Viola have invested wisely over the summer.

Vincenzo Montella’s side are 1/2 to beat Catania in their opening league match tonight, and the strength in depth of the Florence outfit makes this an attractive price.

Josip Ilicic, Joaquin and Juan Cuadrado have all been brought in, while Massimo Ambrosini turned away attention from West Ham to sign a new deal, but their headline signing over the off-season is undoubtedly Mario Gomez from Bayern Munich, who is 10/3 to open the scoring tonight.

Fiorentina lost just three times at the Stadio Artemio Franchi last season, while Catania yielded just a trio of away successes in the previous campaign.

The hosts have scored two or more in nine of their last 14 league games, and with the additional talent in Gomez, Joaquin et al, a 2-0 win for Fiorentina at 13/2 is the way to go.

Granada v Real Madrid – Both teams to score and Real Madrid to win at 8/5.

Real Madrid are unbeaten in seven away matches in La Liga and are 1/3 to win their first away game of the season at Granada.

The Gareth Bale deal may not yet be completed, but Madrid have already spent big in their quest to wrestle domestic honours away from Barcelona.

Asier Illarramendi, Isco and Daniel Carvajal have arrived for a combined total of almost £60m and after a slow start against Betis, Ronaldo and co will soon be firing on all cylinders.

Granada beat Madrid here 1-0 in February, and though a repeat of that result can be backed at 25/1, Real will be eager to avoid the early-season slip-ups that blighted their last campaign.

The defence may not be watertight, but Ronaldo, Di Maria et al should have too much firepower and both teams to score and Real to win looks the pick here at 8/5.

This double pays out at just over 19/1
