Borussia Dortmund to beat Braunschweig @ 1/7

Traditionally, anything can happen when playing a newly promoted team, but for Braunschweig a positive result looks unlikely against last season’s Champions League runners up. While these teams have only met once in their history, in a German cup fixture back in 2005, Braunschweig – Bundesliga founder members from the Lower Saxony region – took a surprise 2-1 victory in that fixture.

Since then, though, the side has spent time plying their trade in the lower reaches of the German football pyramid and their promotion to the Bundesliga could see them as the whipping-boys of the division. Expect nothing but a Dortmund victory.

Nurnberg to beat Hertha Berlin @ 13/10

The head-to-head record between these two clubs makes for some interesting reading, with 13 wins a piece and just four draws between the sides – all of which have come in the Bundesliga. But the statistic that gives Nurnberg the advantage, and the reason they’ve been selected in this preview, is their recent form against Hertha.

With four wins from their last four meetings, and despite an opening day draw away to Hoffenheim this season, Nurnberg at 13/10 still looks to be an attractive prospect.

Malaga to beat Valencia  @ 13/2

Valencia, on paper at least, look to be the team to beat this season, but Malaga cannot be discounted in this fixture. While Valencia have lost just three times against the side who finished sixth in La Liga last season, Malaga recorded a comfortable 4-0 win against Valencia last term and have two victories in their last three league meetings.  With the knowledge that they’re facing a side who have lost their star player to Spurs, Malaga to record a surprise victory at the Mestalla at 13/2 looks to be too enticing.
