Championship Acca: A Reading win at Yeovil heads 17/1 shot

Published:

Life back in the second tier hasn’t gone too swimmingly thus far for Reading, but a win at Yeovil will rejuvenate their promotion push nicely ahead of the international break and the Royals head our 17/1 Championship fourfold.

Reading to beat Yeovil @ 1/1

For many, Yeovil were going to endure a defeat-riddled maiden season in the Championship which would ultimately result in them crashing back down from whence they came.

Having started the campaign with a win at Millwall, they’ve done little to refute these gloomy predictions, losing three on the spin without scoring a goal.

Nigel Adkins needs wins quickly before the heat is cranked up on him after taking just five points from the opening 12 available in addition to losing 6-0 at Peterborough in the Capital One Cup in midweek. His side have the quality in reserve to see off the Glovers and should do it with the pressure on.

Brighton to beat Millwall @ 3/4

The Seagulls have looked a bit groggy when acclimatising to life without Gus Poyet, but two wins and as many losses from their opening four games isn’t a bad return following a transitional summer.

Those two wins came in succession and without the expense of a single goal. They’re fairly priced to make it a hat-trick against the hapless Lions, who have mustered just a single point in four outings.

Watford to beat Blackpool @ 17/10

Paul Ince’s early-season work at Blackpool has been more than admirable, guiding the Tangerines to a shared footing at the Championship’s summit with no budget and the loss of several key players.

Their four-match unbeaten run must come to an end soon and few teams have more firepower than the Hornets, still smarting from their play-off final defeat last term.

Their 11 goals from four can’t be matched by anyone and Blackpool don’t have the resolution to stop them.

Leicester to beat Charlton @ 6/5

A splendid start to the season has seen much of the pressure on Nigel Pearson alleviated ahead of the Foxes’ jaunt to Charlton.

Five wins and a draw from six games so far this term is almost as good as it gets and, with Charlton woefully out of sorts, it’ll take a big effort for the Addicks to stop them here.

They’ve won both of their Championship away matches to date and are well poised to record their first league victory over the south Londoners since 1999 here.
