Vettel leaves rivals trailing in his wake at Hungaroring

Sebastian Vettel threw down the gauntlet at the Hungarian Grand Prix, posting the fastest time in both of Friday’s practice sessions.
To further underline Red Bull’s dominance around the Hungaroring, team-mate Mark Webber backed him up in second place in both the morning and afternoon.
Vettel is evens to pick up a fifth win in 10 races this season and further strengthen his grip on a fourth world championship, and that price is likely to only shorten as the weekend goes on.
The 26-year-old has never won in Hungary, but that was also the same situation for the previous round in Germany and he promptly went on to win at the Nurburgring.
Team-mate Webber has been hot on Vettel’s tail in recent races. The Aussie was second at Silverstone and was running well in Germany before a wheel came loose during a pitstop.
The 36-year-old is 9/1 to pick up a first win of the season and has a good record in Budapest having won here in 2010 and claimed second in 2009.
With the race on Sunday set to be held in temperatures of up to 40 degrees celsius and Mercedes off the pace, some may want to look at the Ferrari and Lotus drivers.
Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa posted consistently quick times in the practice sessions for Ferrari.
Alonso has lost ground in the championship race in recent weeks, and the Spaniard is 6/1 for a much needed third victory of the campaign at the scene of his first win in 2003.
Stablemate Massa however has come under fire lately for some off-par performances, notably an early spin in Germany, and as such is a huge 50/1, which could lead many to back the Brazilian each-way.
Kimi Raikkonen is 5/1 to go one better than last year’s second placed spot.
The Finn was third in first practice, and is expected to come on strong in the race as tyre wear issues take affect in the searing conditions.
