If Ibrahimovic leaves PSG then it will be for Real Madrid

Not many players have sampled as many of Europe’s top clubs as Zlatan Ibrahimovic, but alongside a stint in the Premier League, one of the other big things absent from his resume is a spell at Real Madrid.

However, there are certainly reasons to believe that the 10/1 on offer that Ibrahimovic is a Real Madrid player before the end of the summer transfer window is a price worth considering.

It is well known that the Swedish striker was a supporter of former PSG manager Carlo Ancelotti and he had previously stated that if Ancelotti departed, then as many as 10 players could follow.

Ibrahimovic included himself in this list and one of the first challenges awaiting successor Laurent Blanc is to convince the 31-year-old that he should stay.

PSG chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi has been consistent in his feelings that both Ibrahimovic and Brazilian defender Thiago Silva, who is a target of Barcelona, will remain until their contracts expire.

Even though Napoli goal machine Edinson Cavani is said to be in talks over a move to PSG, replacing Ibrahimovic’s 30 goals last season will not be easy and so 1/3 is reasonable that he remains a PSG player when the summer window closes.

But Real Madrid are known to be in the market for a new striker, with Cavani and Liverpool’s Luis Suarez being linked for much of the close season to date.

Knowing that he can get the most out of Ibrahimovic, Ancelotti may decide to put the Swede at the top of his shortlist.

Big-spending Monaco are understandably also linked and it is 11/4 that he signs for them, while Chelsea are the shortest price of the English contenders for his signature at 16/1.
