Sir Tom Jones can triumph on The Voice for second year running
Published:Few would argue that out of the final four left on The Voice, that Leah McFall will not have the most successful music career. However, she is certainly opposable at 1/3 to be the show winner.
She has been the clear outright favourite since the Battle Rounds, with her vocal acrobatics and exceptional range clearly being a hit with show watchers.
However, her semi-final performance of ‘Killing Me Softly’ seemed like a step back slightly and another below-par display could leave her vulnerable.
Furthermore, she is one of two Northern Irish girls in the competition and this could result in Leah having to split some of the voting demographic with Andrea Begley.
Meanwhile, some casual voters will likely just go against the hefty favourite in the final, enhancing the prospects of Andrea, Matt Henry and Mike Ward.
Leanne Mitchell was the outsider of the final four last year and went on to win in the final and the most likely non-favourite to triumph this year would appear to be Mike at 4/1.
He has steadily been ticking over through the show and Sir Tom Jones has done a good job with song choices in identifying mainstream current songs that can be given a country feel, rather than just plumping for music famous in the genre.
Alongside his song choices, Mike has been given an improved look since his first audition and the fact he was given the headline last spot in the semi final could be significant.
A late performing spot is always a major advantage on any talent show and the fact that Jessie’s team have performed first for each of the last two weeks, hints that producers are not truly behind Matt winning, hence potentially why he is 20/1 to triumph.
Another factor in favour of Mike is that although country and western music does not have the largest UK following, fans of the genre will almost certainly get behind him.
