Radwanska and Kohlschreiber can outrun Wimbledon odds

That German world number 18 Philipp Kohlschreiber is in some of the best nick of his career is borne out by the fact that he’s reached three finals in 2013 – that’s as many as he made in the preceding three seasons put together.
Kohlschreiber has been getting more competitive in Grand Slams over the last two seasons, most recently taking a set off Novak Djokovic in the fourth round at the French Open and he’s now reached that stage or further in four of his last six Slams.
With a career win/loss ledger boasting over twice as many victories as defeats on grass, the green stuff is the Augsburg native’s most effective surface and it yielded his best Grand Slam finish when he reached last year’s Wimbledon quarter finals.
250/1 about Wimbledon victory looks a very big price on the German, who is continuing the progress that saw him finish inside the top 20 of the world rankings for the first time last term.
The betting for the women’s competition is dominated by 4/7 favourite Serena Williams, but such a short-priced favourite should in theory heighten our chance of finding a very useful player at a generous price.
That player could well be last year’s third-seed Agnieszka Radwanska. The Polish world number four is available at a have-to-look twice 33/1 to win this year’s tournament, despite not only reaching last year’s final, but having the temerity to take a set off Williams whilst she was there.
She’s reached the quarter finals in both slams this season, losing to an eventual finalist and the previous year’s finalist in Australia and France respectively and a lack of prior grass form shouldn’t put her backers off as she’d lost her only pre-Wimbledon lawn outing before last year’s tournament.
