Matt too good to refuse to be Jessie J’s last act on The Voice

Published:

Ash Morgan has enjoyed somewhat of a charmed life on The Voice thus far, but his time on the show could be set to end at the semi-final stage.

Each of the four coaches are down to just a pair of acts, with Ash up against Matt Henry for the sole place on Team Jessie J for the final.

Ash is 1/8 to win this battle and he has certainly been the favourite of his coach, who has twice ended up sitting at his feet during his performances and given him free passes through both the knockout round and the quarter finals.

There is a real possibility that the voting public may deem him overrated as a result of Jessie’s behaviour, alongside her statement that Ash’s rendition of ‘Lego House’ in the last round was the best performance ever on the show.

Given that the public will solely decide the finalists, Matt certainly looks overpriced at 9/2 to be Team Jessie’s representative.

In the other markets, show favourite Leah McFall is both unopposable and unbackable at 1/50 to reach the final ahead of Cleo Higgins for Team Will, while based on iTunes downloads from the quarter finals, Mike Ward is the right price at 1/4 to see off Joseph Apostel for Team Tom.

However, there is also reason to believe that an upset in terms of the betting could be seen in Team Danny, with Andrea Begley favourite at 4/7 and Karl Michael 5/4.

Karl arguably produced one of the best auditions, but has been coasting largely since. If he gets the right song choice, he will not only reach the final, but potentially be a bit of a threat to Leah for overall glory.
