French Open: Nadal impossible to oppose against outsider Ferrer

Published:

Rafael Nadal is the massive 1/9 favourite to win the French Open final against David Ferrer this Sunday – and it’s easy to see why.

Nadal is already the greatest ever French Open player, winning seven titles in the open era and losing just once on the Roland Garros clay in the last nine years.

Meanwhile, Ferrer is priced at 11/2 which, whilst seeming pretty big odds on the surface, still looks almost unbackable.

This is the 31-year-old’s first Grand Slam final and only the fourth time he’s been beyond the quarter finals of the French in his entire career.

Quite frankly, the only real value to be found in this final comes from the set betting.

While punters may be tempted to go for a pretty punchy 9/4 that Nadal wins 3-1, a much better bet is to back the whitewash.

Nadal may have dropped a couple of sets against Novak Djokovic in their semi final clash, but Ferrer is no Djokovic and a 3-0 win for Nadal looks a very decent bet at 8/11.
