Draw for England in the Maracana heads-up international four-fold

Published:

Brazil v England

Roy Hodgson’s men were too easily restricted by Ireland at Wembley earlier in the week, drawing talk of a ‘return to the dark ages’.

While probably something of an over-reaction the performance did little to suggest that the Three Lions can beat Brazil on their own patch.

The Selecao lost in England earlier in the season which will give the visitors hope of spoiling the Maracana opening party. However, it is the draw at 11/4 which looks the pick here.

The hosts have shared the spoils in three of their previous four, including two at home, while England have drawn their preceding two clashes.

USA v Germany

Germany have not lost in nine and have hammered an almighty 28 goals in that period.

The Mannschaft have emerged victorious in their past three meetings with the USA and have hit four goals in two of those games.

The Americans conceded four in a defeat to Belgium last time out and have registered just one success in six outings.

The visitors look nailed on at 4/6.

ROI v Georgia

The Irish put in a resolute display against the English and secured a well deserved draw thanks to a great Shane Long header and they will head into this full of confidence.

They have beaten Georgia in all four of their meetings and a price of 8/15 looks too good to turn down.

Temuri Ketsbaia’s men have just one victory since March 2011 away from their own nation and are winless in five at all venues.

Ukraine v Cameroon

Ukraine are currently on a four-match unbeaten run, and that looks set to be extended against Cameroon.

The Africans have prevailed just once in their last six and are without a victory in seven away from home, making a Ukrainian win at 5/6 all the more appealing.
