King of Stats – all the numbers for the Premier League’s final day

The King of Stats was on fire in the Europa League final, with winning tips at prices of 7/5, 31/10, 6/4, 6/5, 33/20 and 1/4 and his attentions are now turned to the final day of the Premier League season.

Trying to read the minds of the numerous sides with nothing left to play for in the last game of the season may seem like a fool’s errand, but the King of Stats has found rich seams of punting order amongst the unpredictability.

7 – Aston Villa have brought the curtain down on their Premier League season away from home in 10 of the last 18 campaigns, losing seven of those games and winning just once. Wigan have had the luxury of playing at the DW on the final day twice during their top flight stay, winning both times and can be backed at 21/20 to bring up the hat-trick against Paul Lambert’s men.

6 – Southampton have played at home on the final day of six of the last seven seasons and have won all six of these games. Meanwhile, in the last five of these triumphs they have netted at least three goals. It is 4/5 that the Saints win again against Stoke and 29/10 they net over 2.5 goals.

4 – In their four Premier League seasons since promotion, Sunderland have lost on the final day by exactly one goal on each occasion. Tottenham are not much value to just beat Sunderland at 3/10, but there could be some mileage in the 3/1 that Spurs take the three points by a single-goal margin.

4 – The 15-minute period between half time and the hour mark has proved eventful for goals in final-day fixtures involving West Ham of late, with four of their last five featuring goals in this time block. 7/5 is the price that the Hammers’ home clash with Reading sees a goal between 45-60 minutes.

4 – Manchester City’s Edin Dzeko likes to remind his employers of his worth before they go off on their summer holidays, notching in the final games of both his City seasons. This was a trick he’d previously pulled off in his last two full campaigns at Wolfsburg – he’s 11/10 to add to the two goals he scored against Norwich at Carrow Road at any time during the contest.

3 – Fulham have lost to nil in three of their last four league bow-outs and they’ll visit a Swansea team who have kept clean sheets the last three times they’ve closed out a campaign at home, winning twice.  A win to-nil for Brian Laudrup’s men is priced-up at 12/5.

3 – Liverpool have drawn a blank in their last three campaign-closing league games and another season-ending shut-out could be on its way if they’re not on their mettle. QPR have put their fans through six goalless draws this term – a 0-0 can be backed at a juicy 16/1.
