Form man Rosberg the outshot for drivers title glory

Nico Rosberg’s win around the streets of Monaco could be the first of many this season, causing unrest for the German’s title rivals.

The 27-year-old is 25/1 to win the championship this season, but three pole positions in succession and now a win suggest he is the man of the moment.

Sebastian Vettel is 60 points ahead of Rosberg in the table but if Mercedes continue their form then that gap will quickly diminish.

The teams head to Canada next where Mercedes is expected to feature strongly, and should Rosberg win again, his price will drop, and drop fast.

The last few races have caused some headaches for the other Mercedes man, Lewis Hamilton, who isn’t used to being in the shadow of a team-mate.

Still settling in with his new team after his winter switch from McLaren, Hamilton sits 45 points behind Vettel and is 12/1 to win a second world championship this year.

Vettel has been a model of consistency this season, making the most of every opportunity and has yet to finish lower than fourth in 2013.

The reigning champion is 10/11 to grab a fourth-straight title and currently leads the standings by 21 points from Kimi Raikkonen.

Raikkonen picked up a solitary point in Monte Carlo, to add to his win in the opening round in Australia and trio of second place finishes.

The 2007 champion has scored point in 23 consecutive races, and the Finn is likely to feature strongly in the second half of the campaign with his tyre-friendly Lotus, and at 6/1 he could prove a very rewarding punt come the end of the season.

Fernando Alonso is 9/4 to dethrone Vettel this year, and despite a quiet weekend in Monaco picking up a seventh place, the Spaniard should be in the hunt on a consistent basis for race wins this season.
