Barcelona demolishing magnetises CL money towards Bayern

| 02.05.2013

Many fancied Bayern to dispense with Barcelona in the Champions League semi final, but absolutely nobody envisaged a 7-0 aggregate score was afoot.

That routing of a team regarded as the greatest ever up until a week ago has made them clear favourites to win the most coveted prize in club football and, having reached three of the past four finals, in addition to their sheer dominance at home and abroad this term, there are few who would deem them unworthy winners.

A price of 5/6 has been chalked up for them to beat Borussia Dortmund in regulation time of the first ever all-German showpiece, while they can be backed as short as 4/9 to win the trophy taking the realms of extra-time into consideration.

Since their shock 2-0 reverse at home to Arsenal, FC Hollywood have squared off with two of the most fearsome sides on the continent in Juventus and Barcelona; phenomenally, they scored 11 goals in those four games without concession.

Their win to nil in the Nou Camp – a result handpicked from the production line of Ladbrokes News’ great tipping machine and tossed out onto the interweb to fatten wallets across the globe – was their seventh in nine attempts as the brilliance of Jupp Heynckes’ men continue to amaze on weekly basis.

Ignoring Dortmund, however, is a risky strategy from a punting perspective as they proved as equally impressive as Bayern in their 4-1 defeat of Real Madrid in the first leg of their semi final clash.

Die Schwarzgelben entertain their Bavarian foes in the Bundesliga this weekend and a good result should see Bayern’s short-price subject to some inflation.

It’ll be the fourth time the two torchbearers of German football have collided this campaign and, surprisingly, Munich’s finest are yet to sample defeat. However, they have been beaten without scoring on both their previous ventures to the Westfalenstadion and, as unlikely as this appears, repetition of these circumstances would give the Borussians a monstrous mental boost ahead of the pair’s Wembley date.
