Value remains in Doncaster price for League One glory
With the majority of sides having only two games remaining in this League One campaign, there remains four teams in with a chance of winning England’s third tier.
And whilst each potential winner is available at a tempting price, favourites Doncaster look the team to side with as 1/1 shots.
Relegated from the Championship last term, Rovers will make an instant return if they can win each of their remaining games, which come in the form of a home tie with Notts County, and trip to fellow title challengers Brentford.
Thus, confidence should be instilled in Brian Flynn’s men, who have lost only one of their last seven home outings, and possess the division’s best away record by some distance.
Donny have also won their past six matches opposing Brentford, 9/2 for the title, and have failed to concede in seven of the last eight encounters between the pair.
As such, if Rovers can head into their final game of the season in need of victory to clinch the League One crown, faith should be placed in the side with the division’s third-meanest defence to achieve it.
Second-place Bournemouth would appear the most serious contenders to Doncaster’s place at the pinnacle of the table meanwhile, especially considering their terrific form of late.
Since Eddie Howe’s return, the Cherries have gone from relegation candidates to 11/8 title challengers, and triumphs in their final two games would ensure promotion for Boscombe.
And as the Dean Court outfit will be entering their final couple of games on the back of seven consecutive victories, few would bet against them securing a passage into the Championship.
But as Doncaster will remain top of the pile providing they match the Cherries’ results, and with success expected for both teams in their respective final two matches, it seems wisest to invest in the current league leaders eventually lifting the title.
