QPR v Stoke: Desperate Rs can drag Potters into the mire
In a relegation humdinger at Loftus Road, QPR will seldom have a better opportunity to end their recent habit of conceding needless goals, against a Stoke side that have scored less times than any other team in the country.
Indeed, the Potters have notched on only six occasions in their past 12 league outings, drawing blanks eight times during this period, and highlighting their hosts’ chances of a clean sheet at 17/10.
Harry Redknapp’s men sit second-bottom of the table meanwhile, and realistically, only a victory here in company with results elsewhere going their way will give them any semblance of hope of remaining in the Premier League.
And thus, the 13/5 odds about a home triumph in which the Hoops don’t concede appeal, especially in light of Stoke losing 10 of their past 13 top-flight fixtures, and failing to register in nine of those.
Tony Pulis’ men have also been beaten in three of their past four encounters opposing QPR, but they have found the net in half of those matches, which could lead to more cautious punters instead simply investing in a 6/5 home success.
Now just three points clear of the drop zone themselves, the 23/10 Potters’ need for victory is pressing too, but having recorded only a solitary triumph on the road this term, it is difficult to envisage an away win.
And even the 9/4 draw could very well be beyond Stoke, who have bagged a measly nine Premier League strikes on their travels over the course of the season so far.
In contrast to their visitors though, QPR have enjoyed a profitable few recent weeks in front of goal, notching on 10 occasions within their last six league matches.
The Rs scored either two or three goals in four of those games, with repetition of those circumstances priced at 31/20 here.
And it is worth mentioning that Loic Remy has been responsible for just less than half of those 10 most recent strikes, with three of them breaking the deadlock in games.
Remy is 9/2 to once again open the scoring here, and 2/1 to bag at any time during a QPR triumph.
