Liverpool’s Suarez still a good bet to be Premier League top scorer

The Premier League title race is as good as over and two of the three relegation places already look sewn up – but there is still plenty of intrigue to be found in the English top tier.

One market well worth keeping an eye on is the Premier League top scorer.

Luis Suarez is currently topping the scorers’ chart and, with six games of the season remaining, he can be backed at 1/3 to still be there at the end of the final day.

While it won’t be the biggest bet you’ll ever take on, there is plenty to suggest that it’s one that will lead to a decent pay out.

Suarez is currently three goals ahead of Robin van Persie (11/5) in the scoring charts and the Dutchman has now gone 10 games without scoring for Manchester United.

With space already being cleared for United’s 20th league title in the Old Trafford trophy cabinet, Sir Alex Ferguson will surely use the remaining games to give the likes of Javier Hernandez a bit more game time and to give Van Perise (who quite frankly looks shattered) some much needed rest.

Meanwhile, Liverpool are still chasing European football and don’t have the luxury of resting Suarez or taking things any easier.

With games against Reading, Fulham and QPR still to come for the Reds, there are plenty of opportunities for Suarez to add to his tally and become Liverpool’s first Golden Boot winner since Michael Owen in 1999.

It’s not going to pay off your mortgage, but a bet on Suarez at 1/3 stands a brilliant chance of paying out.
