Championship Accumulator: Watford lead charge for massive payout

Published:

At the business end of the Championship season, hefty prices are available regarding many a side with plenty left to play for in the next round of upcoming fixtures.

And as such, following our predictions will lead to a payout exceeding 51/1 if all four of our selections are accurate.

First, we take Watford to halt Peterborough’s impressive run of form, with the Hornets 7/5 to succeed at London Road.

Though Posh are unbeaten in eight matches, a majority five of these came on the road, and it should be noted that they haven’t beaten this opposition in their three most recent attempts.

Given the visitors have the third-best Championship record against lower-half teams this term too, confidence should be placed in Gianfranco Zola’s men.

Next, we do opt for a side battling for their lives in the lower regions of the table to prevail, in the form of 6/5 Barnsley, who host Charlton.

Having lost just once in their past seven league outings, the Tykes will be brimming with confidence entering this clash after back-to-back home victories.

A third consecutive Oakwell triumph looks in store for the Yorkshire outfit, as they bid to extend an unbeaten run opposite the Addicks that stretches back to 1999.

And with that result sure to be of detriment to Blackburn Rovers’ survival chances, we expect their hopes of avoiding the drop to take another blow when they welcome Derby to Ewood Park.

2/1 to succeed, the Rams look overpriced in light of the three victories they have scored in their past four league matches.

They meet a Rovers side winless in 11 games in all competitions, and one which has lost seven matches in this period, finding the net on only six occasions.

And finally, we believe there will be little to choose between the sides when Blackpool welcome Burnley to Bloomfield Road.

The draw is 23/10, and appears the standout call in light of five of the hosts’ last eight matches ending level.

Stalemates have emanated from four of the Clarets’ past six outings too, whilst this pairing have drawn a big 27 Championship games between them this season.

All Odds and Markets are correct as of the date of publishing.
