Back Everton to make Arsenal sweat in a tight Emirates clash

Published:

Arsenal may be the odds-on 8/11 favourites to win their Tuesday clash with Everton but the Toffees have every reason to fancy getting something out of this game.

David Moyes’ men have been on a very decent run of form and have now gone five Premier League games without tasting defeat, winning four of those.

Meanwhile, Arsenal are also shifting through the gears as we enter the final weeks of the season and have climbed to third in the table after winning each of their previous four league games and losing just one of their last 10.

So, with two teams in very good form and with both having Champions League ambitions (Arsenal’s are somewhat more realistic), everything is set for this to be an incredibly tight game.

And it’s an outcome that their recent history also points towards.

Each of the last six meetings between these sides has been very close, with two of them ending in draws and the other four being settled by a single strike in favour of Arsenal.

While Everton may not have enough to come through and win at the Emirates for the first time since the Gunners moved there, they should have enough to keep things tight and maybe snatch a point – especially when you consider they have already held Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur away from home this term.

With Arsenal shipping a goal in each of their previous three Premier League home games, backing Arsene Wenger’s men to win 2-1 at 15/2 looks an early bet well worth consideration while a punt on a 1-1 draw is also tempting at a slightly shorter 13/2.
