Spurs v Inter: Hosts can repeat success over struggling Italians

Published:

In the form of his life, Gareth Bale will line up against the club he arguably made his name against, and he can help Tottenham along to another White Hart Lane victory over Inter at 3/4.

The 7/2 visitors have struggled in all competitions this term, and find themselves sitting in a disappointing fifth place domestically heading into this match.

They do have a better record away from home than on their own patch however in Europe, which will be a point of encouragement for their backers.

However, the Bale factor alone is likely to be enough to deter many from siding with the travelling Italians.

The Welshman tore Inter apart the previous two times these sides encountered each other, hitting a hat-trick at the San Siro in a 4-3 defeat, before providing multiple assists in a 3-1 home win.

He can be backed at 14/1 to smash another treble here, but at shorter odds, the 11/10 regarding Bale notching in a Spurs win looks to have serious chances.

Such a bet would have brought returns in five out of Tottenham’s last six games in all competitions.

Bale opened the scoring in all five of those six matches too, and is an obvious first scorer candidate at 3/1, whilst he is an odds-on 8/11 to bag at any time during the 90 minutes.

In half of their European home games this term meanwhile, Spurs have emerged victorious by a 3-1 scoreline, as they did the last time Inter visited White Hart Lane.

A 3-1 home win appeals at 12/1, whilst Andre Villas-Boas’ men will see support to win a match involving at least 2.5 goals at 9/5.

And those simply wishing to back either team to find the net, as has occurred in 10 of the 16 European outings the team have played between them this season, can have 4/5 about that occurrence.

Alternatively, some may choose to chance Spurs to win a match in which both teams register at 11/4.
